Skyline Drive Corvette Club

6/1/08:  Sunday  Time: ____  - SDC has been invited to be a participating Guest car club at the concours, at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem.  Participating clubs will receive complimentary tickets to the Concours, separate secured Club Parking, a Dash Plaque and free use of area show grounds, and one door prize ticket for each car.
This is the 18th Concourse d'Elegance of the Easern United States, and it supports the Burn Prevention Foundation.  The show theme is "Romance of the Open Air" with a rolling parade of these cars throughout the day.
Participating clubs are not judged.  SDC will caravan to the show and back, with a refreshment stop on the way back.  Signup sheets are at the General Meetings.  Details call 484-824-5588

6/2/08 - Monday - 7PM:  InVette Meeting at Mareena's.  Arrive at 6PM if you'd like to have food beforehand.

6/4/08 to 6/8/08:  Mystery Trip IV.  25 couples already signed up as of January meeting.  Have room for 3 more couples.  Contact Albie Reppert.  $75 deposit needed.  Total cost $1080 per couple.

6/7/08:  100th Anniversary at Stouchsburg, Rte 422 west.  More details to follow.

6/8/08 - 9AM to 3PM - Mohnton Navy Yard Car Show.  Always a big event.

6/27/08:  Friday - Annual Drive your Corvette to Work day

6/27/08:  Friday - Meet at 5 PM at Boscovs parking lot side of Berkshire Mall.  Depart at 5:15 PM for Free Concert by Gary Lewis and the Playboys, at Greenfields Park, Lancaster PA.  Down Rte 222, go US-30 East, and the Greenfields exit is about the 3rd exit.  Food vendors available.  Bring your chairs.  Concert begins at 6:30 PM and ends at 8:30 PM. Most people will gather for ice cream etc at Sonic in Brownstown, Rte 272, on the way back.

6/29/08:  Sunday, 11AM – 4PM:  Vettes Cruisin’ for Pets at the Animal Rescue League (new location this year)  Located off Route 724 near Route 176 in Cumru Township.
8 Trophy Classes, music, food.  Pre-registration is closed.  $20 registration day of show.
The animal rescue league needs blankets, sheets, towels (new or used) for animal bedding.
They also need cat food, guinea pig food, rabbit food, kitty litter, dog treats etc.  They also have Llamas, horses, chickens and other farm animals looking for a new place to call home.

! The Main Event: Sunday: Cruise/Show at Martz Hall parking lot 10 AM to 4PM.  Judging 1 PM to 3 PM, followed by 10 mile Rolling Cruise around Pottsville 4 PM to 6 PM, then Flaming Dick & The Hot Rods at Martz Hall again from 6 PM to 9 PM.  You've never seen anything like this!
To accommodate Dennis Gage's filming of The Great Pottsville Cruise for an episode of My Classic Car, staging times will be earlier than previous years. Staging begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, August 10th at Martz Hall. All vehicles 1972 and older will stage at the west "upper" lot, and all vehicles 1973 and newer will stage at the east "lower" lot.

8/16/08:  Sunday - Shillington 100th Anniversary Event
We will meet for breakfast at 8:30 AM at the Deluxe Restaurant on Lancaster Pike at Montrose Blvd. (across from Mervine's Garage) 
We will leave the restaurant approx 9:45 AM and form in the West Hills area at St. John's Church at 10 AM.
The parade starts at 11 AM and proceeds 1.5 miles on flat terrain through the borough of Shillington to the Community Park on Rte 724.  There will be a special parking area in the parking lot and refreshments available, along with other festivities scheduled after the parade.

8/17/08:  Sunday - Corvette Display and Brunch  at Reading Country Club, Route 422 Exeter Twp. 
Brunch is 11 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. - $14.95 per person with a 10 % discount ( Drinks are extra )
Plan on arriving around 10:45 A.M. - there will be a designated parking area for club members .
Non SDC members will be voting for their favorite three cars - prizes to those individuals.
SDC members will not be voting.
Also there will be a drawing for several door prizes for SDC members only.     
If you do not golf - Restaurant manager will provide prize in food award.

5/3/08:  Mid America Motorworks' Spring Swapfest and Low Speed Autocross on May 3rd from 8am to 4pm at our corporate headquarters in Effingham, IL.  Exhibitor set up begins at 7am.  Swapfest is open to all automotive makes and models.  Our 2007 events were a great success with the support of our clubs.  I want to thank you in advance for making the 2008 Spring Swapfest even better!

This is a fun day where we fill up the lot with our Vettes, have hamburgers & hotdogs for lunch, and get to know other SDC members better.  Wear your Nametags!!  A.W. Golden is also having Test Drives available on Corvettes they have in inventory.  A.W. Golden promotes this event in their newspaper ads and billboards.  Thank You A.W. Golden!!

4/20/08:  Sunday, 4PM:  Sunset Cruise  -  Governor Mifflin High School Car Club (Mifflin Performance & Style Association) along with Kenhorst Plaza Dairy Queen and the Reading Pagoda will sponsor the 2nd Annual Pagoda Sunset Cruise.  The gathering will begin at 4PM at the Dairy Queen, Rte 724 & 625 in Kenhorst PA, and will cruise to the Pagoda & Fire Tower at 6:30 PM to watch the sunset.
Door prizes, music by DJ Johnny D.  Free ice cream cones to all who register.  The $10 registration donation will benefit the Pagoda restoration fund.  Last year the Pagoda received $200 for the restoration fund.

4/26/08: Saturday 11AM to 4PM - Rain or Shine - SDC Corvette display and Annual Chicken Bake Sale at the Wm Penn Fire Tower.  This is one of the few times each year that the tower is open to the public.  Chicken Bake dinners ($7.50 each) are provided by Big John's. You may pre-order tickets by phone (610-777-5732 or 610-370-9096) or tickets are available the day of the event.  Pre-orders must be picked up by 3:30.
Also available: baked goods, beverages, hot dogs.  Pagoda Gift Shop items and 100th Anniversary items.  Meet Smokey the Bear.
